In
the early 1980's, a group of Berkshire residents interested in
bringing the lifecare concept to this area incorporated as the
Berkshire Retirement Community in Lenox, a small New England town,
in the beautiful and culturally rich Berkshires of Western Massachusetts.
This
lifecare community, known as Kimball Farms and under the local
management of Berkshire Healthcare Systems, is sited on the former
working farm of a Lenox "cottage". These wooded 63 acres became
a horse farm and riding stable in the early 1900's; many of the
riding trails have been preserved as walking trails and are extensively
used by our residents.
Lenox, renowned as the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra's
Tanglewood Music Festival, is conveniently located only 2-1/2
hours from New York City and Boston, and 45 minutes from Albany.
